Support Coordination Team - Interaction Disability Services

Support Coordination Team

Helen Amos
NDIS Services Manager

Helen has been an invaluable part of the team for almost 20 years!  Part of Helen’s responsibilities include overseeing the intake and allocation of new participants and liaising with participants, families and other organisations when they are looking for a particular type of support. Helen loves seeing the people we serve reach their goals – such an important moment – it inspires us all to keep doing the things we do.

Helen holds a BA in Community Welfare, and a BA Honours 1st Class in Social Science.  Her passion of working with parents with intellectual disability inspired her research on ‘Parents with Intellectual Disability and the Child Protection Process’.  Outside of the workplace Helen has recently completed a 60km walk in just under 14 hours, helping to raise over $5000 for the Fred Hollows Foundation.  Helen loves hiking and history, she’s planning to combine these interests by hiking from one side of Britain to the other, on a history trail based on the Tudor period.

Michelle Pittendrigh
Support Coordinator

Michelle started with Interaction in early 2017 as one of our highly respected Social Educators.  Within that time she has quickly progressed, moving into her role as Support Coordinator.  Michelle provides person-centred support to participants, offering them choices and supporting them to make informed decisions.  She assists participants with their involvement in the community, and encourages independence.

Seeing participants reach their goals is what Michelle loves most about her job.  Michelle comes to Interaction from a strong administration background, within privately owned companies and the local Government sector – which included providing services and opportunities to the indigenous community in Western Sydney.

Away from Interaction, Michelle loves sports and is very active with her family and friends.

Graham Storey
Support Coordinator

Graham started with Interaction in mid-2018 after spending most of his career in the health and medical devices industry. Of his current role as Support Coordinator, Graham says “seeing those around me smile and watching them build confidence and skills is a huge motivator for me. I’m inspired by the determination and enthusiasm of those who trust me to take care of their well being and I love seeing them succeed.  I’m proud to work with a team of Support Coordination experts who are genuinely people focused and foster a great culture of helping everyone around them.”

Bec Wah
Support Coordinator

After a 15 year career in nursing, Bec joined Interaction as a key support worker before transitioning into her current role as Support Coordinator. In Bec’s own words, ‘my passion for disability stems from my lived experience with my daughter who has a rare disability complicated with complex needs, seeing her accomplish goals and doing things that were deemed impossible, is not only rewarding but an honour to be a part of.’ Motivated not only by these personal reasons, Bec’s favourite part of her role is seeing participants build their confidence and achieve their goals.

Kate

Kate Moir
Support Coordinator

Kate comes to Interaction Services with seven years’ experience within the disability sector. Kate’s background includes working directly with participants with a variety of different support needs in day program, group homes, supported employment and 1:1 direct support.

Kate is passionate about individuals having choice and control about how they wish to live their life and provides a person-centred approach when supporting participants to access services to maximise their personal and social life skills.

Kate says the most rewarding thing about her job is witnessing the joy and sense of accomplishment that achieving a new goal brings to that person’s life.

Hannah

Hannah McLaughlin
Support Coordinator

Hannah has a BA in Anthropology at Macquarie University and recently completed a Master of Social Work (Qualifying) at Western Sydney University. She has also completed placements with Hume Community Housing and Disability Services Australia (Packaging Solutions) and is a member of the Australian Association of Social Workers. Hannah enjoys being a part of the Support Coordination team because she gets to see her participants grow and accomplish their goals. She strives to use a strength-based and person-centred approach to help participants achieve their goals.
