Mental Health First Aid Training Available

Our Behaviour and Allied Health Services (BAHS) team is now able to offer Mental Health First Aid training. Facilitated by an Interaction Behaviour Support Practitioner, Mental Health First Aid teaches people the knowledge and confidence to offer help to someone who may be suffering from mental health problems.

“Each year 1 in 5 Australians will experience a mental illness. Many people are not knowledgeable or confident to offer assistance. Physical first aid is accepted and widespread in our community, however most do not cover mental health problems. Mental Health First Aid teaches people the skills to help someone who they’re concerned about” (www.mhfa.com.au)

Learn practical skills to help friends and family members – or anyone around you who might be experiencing mental health issues. Our accredited facilitator will help you understand how to listen to someone with mental health problems, and importantly, how to respond and direct them to any supports they might need.
